Dear church family,

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your prayers and support throughout the past year. We aimed to have made available the AMP packet earlier, but due to changes in our financial team, we received the necessary information later than anticipated. We're sending this email as promptly as possible, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

As we approach our Annual General Meeting this Sunday, please review these helpful reminders from the Diocese according to the Canons to guide our time together.

Attending and Voting in the AMP:

  • All are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting, but only individuals who have attended regularly and are at least 16 years old may vote.
  • Regular attendance includes either attending once a month or receiving church services in some other form, aside from physically attending worship services.

Adopting the Annual Parish Budget:

  • It's important to note that the annual parish budget is adopted by parishioners, not approved by them. Before being presented to the parishioners for adoption, the budget must be approved by the Parish Council, as stated in Paragraph 32 c) iii) of their duties.
  • Any changes to the budget made by parishioners require prior approval from the Parish Council. While parishioners have the right to reject the motion to adopt the budget at the annual meeting, they cannot directly amend it. In such cases, the Parish Council must decide whether to proceed with the approved budget or prepare a new one for approval at a subsequent special meeting of parishioners.

AMP Potluck:

  • Though not covered by the Canons, we encourage everyone to bring finger foods or other treats suitable for enjoying while holding a report in one hand and a coffee in the other. If you plan on bringing a treat, please let us know at info@stgeorgesinthepines.com. We're incredibly grateful for your delicious contributions!

Thank you once again for your continued support and involvement in our church community. God bless you and we look forward to our time together this coming Sunday.

Sincerely,
The Ministry Team at St George in the Pines Anglican Church - Banff
